After checking into the room, I have found 3 cockroaches in the room within a period of eight hours. Keep in mind that the room was on the fifth floor, not the first floor. On the bathroom floor beside the bathtub, there was an inch of human hairball. When I put the bath floor towel down, I discovered pubic hair in the middle of the towel. The bathtub also had a large round yellow stain about 4 inches in diameter.
When I informed the front desk, the associate offered me to change the room and would take care of the bill for the previous night stay. She assured me that she would ensure that I wouldn't get charged for that night a few times. After moving into the new room, I found another pubic hair on the bath towel. There is another yellow stain at the corner of the bathtub against the wall.
As usual, I took part of the free breakfast in the lobby. What a surprise! A few hours after breakfast, I had upset stomach and some constipation. I didn't partake the free breakfast the next day.
After I checked out the room, I received the bill without taking off the first night's charge.
Lastly, I never got recognized (which is usually a standard protocol in the Hilton chain) as a diamond member. And didn't get a complimentary snack or bottle of water.
PS: Check out the pictures for proof.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Homewood Suites for three months while on my fieldwork rotation as a graduate student. From the moment I checked in, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my needs and consistently treated me with quality care and respect. A few of the many wonderful staff include the manager Grace, Ricky, Ms. Williams, and Renee. Each staff member created a welcoming environment that felt like a home away from home. My extended stay at this hotel exceeded all expectations and I can not recommend this hotel enough! I look forward to returning in the future!
A nice hotel. Older ... looks like it was last updated a few years ago but clean and appropriate for our stay. (We had a quick overnight and didn't spend a lot of time in the hotel.) The thermostat wouldn't allow heat so we were a but chilly. (64 degrees in the morning.) And most of the kitchen utensils were missing. But as we only heated leftovers it wasn't a big deal.
First Day Arrival - Early Arrival we waited for our room to be ready. Our room is ready (413). No liquid hand soap in bottle. Cap on hair conditioner broken. Let the front desk know so they would replace broken cap and fill bottle of liquid hand soap. We also noticed a an odor in the bathroom as well. Ate dinner at their restaurant. We ate the hamburgers and fries which was delicious, but a little on the high side for the hamburger and fries. Our server/waitress was so sweet and friendly. Second day we noticed that there was water in the bottom of the cabinet below the sink. We also asked if they could check the air and heating in the room because we could not get the the heater to work in the room because it was cold in the night. We again let them know also about the liquid hand soap hasn’t been fixed or refilled are the conditioner top had not been fixed as well or replace while we were gone. Again later that night when we return, my husband went down to let them know at the front desk again for the third time and they just kept giving excuses. He then went down again because there was someone different at the front desk and told them about the conditioner hat being broken, and no liquid soap and the soap dispenser and finally somebody came to fix it for us. I will have to say though the breakfast in the morning we’re outstanding, and the chef was awesome with the omelettes. The lock on the bathroom door did not work as well, and the bottom of the door was damage where the wood was coming off of it. The furniture was definitely worn out and out of date with stains on it. The location was not bad. One of the pillows they had on the bed was really nasty looking so we had to take it off, but thankfully they had a few more pillows that looked pretty good. We just had to allow a little bit more time to get into the places we needed to be because of the traffic and construction going on around that area. This is just not what we expected, in the quality of an Embassy Suites Hotel. I feel that for the price they want to charge for these for rooms, you would expect a better quality of furniture and cleanliness in these rooms. The mattresses were so worn out and also when you turn, they would squeak.
The room smelled like animal urine. We cleaned very thoroughly and the room still stinks. We boiled Mr. Clean in a pot on the stove and as soon as we turned the pot off, within minutes the room was funky again. The room did not have linen for the sofa bed, some of the tiles were coming up from the floor, the water in the bathroom sink just trickled out. The ice maker did not work. Someone propped a liquor bottle in the door to keep the exit/entrance door opened and for whatever reason the staff did nothing about it. Why are they renting rooms with this many problems? I went to the front desk to tell them about the odor and the staff was talking about another family that they moved twice because of the odors in their rooms. The staff mentioned the family left because the third room also had an odor. If you're going to allow pets in the rooms, make sure you have deep clean those rooms. OR stop renting those rooms to families without pets. I asked for another room and was told they were booked and had nowhere to move us. Because this was over the Christmas holidays most hotels were booked. We were told that if we left we would have to wait 5-7 business days for a refund which meant we were stuck. This was not the hilton experience I expected. I have reached out to customer support and I'm hoping they can make this right. This location should be shut down until they have the staff to properly clean all rooms.
The hotel concierge service was professional and friendly during the day and night. The suites were cleaned and prepared. I recommend maybe always stocking a few towels in the rooms prior to guest arriving. Everything was absolutely great!
I rented out the Palmetto Room for my son’s 16th birthday party. The previous sale person no longer is with the company. I found out after several attempts to finalize the details before the big day. I would like to say I appreciate Renee …
At check in the staff was very nice. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast staff was a sweet lady. At checkout, the staff was also very kind and helpful. We will definitely stay hear again.
